Didn’t I say May had better watch out for me? 🙂
Back in April I submitted a poem for a contest and the results will be announced in July so I know it’s going to be a while before I hear how it did. Since poetry isn’t my strong suit I’m not too worried about when I’ll hear about it.
Two of the other pieces are short stories that have been looking for the right home. The third piece I submitted is a non-fiction letter. It was a response to a writing prompt centered around a resignation letter. To be honest, I didn’t think there was a desire for letters but I found a market!
One proud moment this month was not waiting until the last minute to submit my work to beat the end of the month deadline. I spaced out my submissions in order to make sure they met the formatting guidelines. According to the average response times from Duotrope, nothing is so terrible that a rapid rejection came within a day, and the average time for a response may be accurate.
Wow, three submissions and four pending. You rock!
