Wrapping It Up and The Next Step

This is my final post (for now) on how newer authors can get their books reviewed by bloggers.

Not every book is available through Amazon and not all authors can afford to spend all the money they make from book sales on promotion.  Some authors find it’s easiest to set aside an hour or two each day to promoting themselves and their work.

It can take as many hours to write a review as it takes to read a book and bloggers aren’t always willing to take chances based solely on a synopsis.  Letting the reader get to know you a bit better as a writer is a good way to get the reviewer to take a chance on you.

  • Have an online presence.
  • Let online visitors see or hear your words.  (I forgot to mention it in an earlier post but some authors will put podcasts or links to audio files of them reading.)
  • Talk to other authors about what worked for them so you’re not putting forth a lot of wasted effort.
  • Create a buzz using your friends and strangers.

Next Steps

At some point you may get to where you need a media kit online or a media room.  Some of the nicest ones I’ve seen belong to Linore Rose Burkard, and Karina Fabian.

Good luck!

  1. Thanks, Amber–I’m honored you like my media room.

Great ideas on making a web presence and getting your book out there. Keep up the good work!

  2. Hey Amber,
Thank you for mentioning my media kit–and I’m pleased you like it. How observant you are to find some you like, and then to use them as examples for your readers. Well done
    All the best,

    Linore
