Let Me Find You Online

This is my second post in the series “How To Get Your Book Reviewed”.
Everyone has a right to privacy but when you’ve written a book if you plan on doing blog tours or using other promotions via the internet, your readers and reviewers must be able to locate you or your book.

Have a site for you or your book!

You don’t have to buy a domain name though most authors do at some point.  There are free web pages and blogs available through wordpress, weebly, google sites, LiveJournal, blogger, myspace and so on.  Take some time to determine if you want the site to focus on you or your book and that will determine your content.  Your site doesn’t even have to be about “you”.  If your book is fiction then you can even have the web site be for one of your characters.

When determining which service to use take into account whether or not you will have static pages that don’t change often.  How easy will it be for you to update the pages?  Do you want your readers to be able to communicate with you through comments?

It can be confusing so go over the options with someone you trust as a sounding board.  Other authors you know can be a great source of feedback and advice.
